DONCASTER RACING PICKS – ON THE HOUSE. I am sharing the 4 of my bets for free, with the main bet being in the Lincoln. While it looks a tough program on paper, I do have another 2 strong bets at Stratford and Uttoxeter which have been sent to those who subscribe to our other services.

DONCASTER RACING PICKS – ON THE HOUSE
13:50 – JASOUR (7/1)It will be interesting to see if MY MATE ALFIE benefits from a change of stables. One thing is certain: he will at least get more opportunities now that he’s switched to a UK trainer.
My issue with SPYCATCHER is the 3lb penalty. Nevertheless, he’s the favourite for a reason, and he won this race last year. The Karl Burke-trained eight-year-old should run his race, but I’m expecting a few of these to finish in front of him.
William Haggas seems to have his string in good form, and the trainer’s MONTASSIB is entitled to run a big race. The key to Cieren Fallon’s mount is getting him out of the stalls on level terms, which isn’t guaranteed.
JAMES DELIGHT was a bit unlucky in this race last year, but for the winner I’m siding with JASOUR. The son of HAVANA GREY won first time out in 2024, and his last three runs have all been in Group Ones. Clive Cox also appears to have his string in good form, and conditions certainly favour the five-year-old.
14:25 – DESPERATE DAN (14/1, Exchanges)In my opinion, CLASSIC ENCOUNTER needs further than a mile, and he’s fully exposed. I can understand why many tipsters are siding with MEZCALA, with one of the main reasons being that he’s lightly raced. His trainer, Jack Channon, had a winner the other day, and this trip should suit him well. With that said, he’s not as battle-hardened as some of these, and there are better alternatives.
FAR FROM DANDY is match-fit and comes into this on the back of finishing fourth of 25 in the Irish Lincolnshire. Nevertheless, that race was run on heavy ground, and he won’t be getting those conditions today.
PRINCIPALITY is being well supported, but I struggle to see him winning a race of this nature. For the Spring Cup, my selection is course-and-distance winner DESPERATE DAN. The five-year-old is progressive and looks the type to thrive in a strongly run, big-field contest like this.

14:57 – DOCKLANDS (13/8)QIRAT was a 150/1 winner of last season’s Sussex Stakes, but in three runs since, he hasn’t been able to reproduce that level of form. Another concern with the Ralph Beckett-trained five-year-old is that he tends to race keenly, suggesting he might be a bit too fresh on his seasonal debut.
With the other three runners needing to find around 10lb, the safe option looks to be DOCKLANDS. The six-year-old doesn’t seem to mind whether he races in small or big fields, and he is used to competing at a much higher level than Listed class. Since he last ran in December, there is no reason to think he won’t be ready for the challenge ahead.
DONCASTER 3:32 – ETERNAL FORCE (4/1) – Top Bet at DonnyNo doubt many trainers will have laid out their horses for the William Hill Lincoln. However, if we are being realistic, many of the runners are fully exposed, and they would need the principals to underperform.
I believe this season’s renewal won’t take much solving, and I won’t be overthinking my bet. One stands out from the crowd, and this is a no-hesitation selection.
I don’t usually like backing favourites in big-field handicaps, but I have no hesitation in siding with ETERNAL FORCE. This horse comes from a stable in good form and was highly progressive when last seen. The four-year-old is streetwise, suggesting the big field is a positive rather than a negative. As a strong traveller, expect Cieren Fallon to settle him in midfield before producing him with a strong run in the final furlong to take the prize.
