Making money from sports betting isn’t rocket science. But there is a method to it.

You need access to good prices, capital to work with and a way to identify value. Then comes the fourth pillar: handling the losing runs that can arrive even when your decisions are sound.

That is where a disciplined operation can come unstuck. You start chasing, abandon your process after a bad weekend or increase stakes to get back to even.

In the video, I break down all four pillars and explain how they fit together.

Same selection. Different price.

Here’s one takeaway you can use immediately. Suppose you estimate an outcome has a 50% chance of winning:

  • At 1.91, its expected return is −4.5%.

  • At 2.08, its expected return is +4%.

That is an $8.50 difference in expected profit per $100 staked, assuming that probability estimate is right. It is why line shopping belongs in your routine before you press confirm.

But securing a good price is only part of the job. You also need a staking plan, available reserves and a way to judge your process when recent results look ugly. That’s where closing line value becomes useful.
