SATURDAY SPECIAL: 4 RACING PICKS FOR FREE!
CHELTENHAM 12:40
MINELLA YOGA 5/2
I’ve been impressed with TENTER LE TOUT; it’s just that he would have a much better chance in a handicap, where he’s rated 123. On official ratings, ONE HORSE TOWN is the highest at 131. However, he’s set to carry a 7-pound penalty, and he was put in his place last time out.
MAESTRO CONTI won a race in France before joining the Dan Skelton yard. On his British debut, the son of PRINCE GIBRALTAR made light work of winning at Kempton. He’s clearly a talented individual, and he’ll take a bit of stopping.
That said, the early favourite is giving 3 pounds to the selection, the 129-rated MINELLA YOGA, while ONE HORSE TOWN is giving 5 pounds. The Paul Nicholls-trained gelding won a good race against a talented older horse last time out, and he can only improve.

CHELTENHAM 13:15
DONNACHA 12/1 (Each-Way)
JAGWAR seems to run his best races at this track, and he comes here on the back of a close third on his seasonal debut. The 7-year-old is still progressing, but the short odds of 7/4 put me off.
BOOSTER BOB is a talented individual who should run well. JAVERT ALLEN gets into this race on a nice weight, but will he stay a stiff 2m4f? To cut a long story short, I have my doubts. My issue with UNCLE BERT is his jumping, especially at a track like this.
PRAIRIE WOLF knows how to win, and these Cheltenham fences won’t faze him. Although he was raised 3 pounds for finishing third last time out, he’s still feasibly handicapped. That said, while I’d include the 9-year-old in my Placepot bets, I prefer DONNACHA.
The Nigel Hawke-trained 8-year-old is progressing nicely, and winning a chase at Exeter proves he’s a natural jumper. James Davies’ mount may be stepping up in class, but I’m convinced he has plenty in his favour. While I’m not usually a big each-way player, I’m happy to take that route here.

CHELTENHAM 15:35
STRONG LEADER 9/2
MA SHANTOU continues to improve, and Emma Lavelle’s 7-year-old comes here on the back of a course-and-distance win. However, that was in a handicap, and this is a stronger race against better opposition.
IMPOSE TOI has won his last three races, beating STRONG LEADER in the last two. On bare form, he deserves to be favourite, but it’s not as if he had a wide margin over Olly Murphy’s 9-year-old. While Nicky Henderson’s gelding is a strong traveller and a Cheltenham winner, it’s hard to justify him being odds-on while STRONG LEADER is available at 9/2.
Sean Bowen’s mount is a strong stayer, and the more testing ground could help him reverse the form. At these odds, I’ll be having a sizeable bet.

UTTOXETER 15:41
PIERROT JAGUEN 9/2
Here’s an extra one I’m willing to share at Uttoxeter, although I’ve taken bigger odds than are available now.
JO COKO was ultimately disappointing on his chasing debut. The Nicky Richards-trained 7-year-old didn’t take to his fences, which explains the addition of a visor today. If he learns from the experience, odds of around 11/2 would be more than fair—but my instinct says he’s one to oppose.
DOUBLE CLICK doesn’t appeal as a chasing type. MOUNT GAY RUN is unexposed, but he’s starting to look disappointing.
PAPER MILL was prolific in point-to-points and did win a chase over this course and distance last time out. Despite being 10 years old, he’s going the right way and should be in the mix.
That said, despite his big weight, I won’t be looking beyond PIERROT JAGUEN. The son of SAINT DES SAINTS wasn’t beaten far last time, and with a cleaner round of jumping he might well have won. Robbie Dunne’s mount gets into this off a fair mark of 121, and with just five runs under Rules, this point-to-point winner remains unexposed. With more to come, I’m excited about his chances.
