NEWBURY 15:20 – ALL IN YOU 15/2
LET IT RAIN is highly regarded by connections, but he’s been put up another 4lb for finishing second last time out.
Handicap debutant UN SENS A LA VIE should handle the ground, but I don’t believe he’s done enough to be rated 130.
TUTTI QUANTI beat a next-time-out winner over this course and distance in the Gerry Feilden. For that effort, the Nicholls-trained six-year-old was raised a further 8lb. Based on form, he’s clearly got a chance, but dropping odds and top weight are less appealing.
I’m with another last-time-out winner in ALL IN YOU, who won on his third attempt in the UK. The former French-trained six-year-old was highly rated (91) on the Flat in France, where he won three races on heavy ground. We backed him when he won his last race with a bit in hand, and at these juicy odds, a 5lb penalty won’t put us off doing the same today.

WARWICK 13:15 – HOLLYGROVE CHA CHA 9/4
When last seen 484 days ago, FLYING FORTUNE was completing a four-timer. The seven-year-old is clearly an interesting character, but she’s likely to need this race after such a long break.
LA PINSONNIERE is also returning from an absence of 296 days, although Nicky Henderson may have saved her for a late campaign. While the ex-French-trained six-year-old should handle the ground, her record of six seconds and just one win raises a question mark about her willingness.
Top-rated JUBILEE ALPHA is rightly at the head of the market. On form, the Paul Nicholls-trained seven-year-old holds the second and third in the betting and comes from a stable in excellent form. Nevertheless, I want to take her and the others on with HOLLYGROVE CHA CHA.
On 30th December 2025, the five-times-raced daughter of AFFINISEA was beaten fair and square by JUBILEE ALPHA. However, that Taunton contest was over the minimum trip, whereas this is run over 2m5f. Moreover, the biggest game-changer is the ground, with the Jamie Snowden-trained six-year-old favoured by today’s testing conditions.

WARWICK 14:25 – LE MILOS 5/1
Regulars will know my thoughts on runners from the Alan King stable, in that his followers often finish in the poorhouse. That said, the trainer’s ten-year-old GRANDEUR D’AME is a fair type and should place.
KNAPPERS HILL won seven of his 13 races, but this season’s efforts suggest he’s paying the price for those early successes. In any case, I can’t see him handling this testing ground, especially under such a big weight.
The Twiston-Davies team know how to get one ready, and their GUARD YOUR DREAMS knows how to win first time up. The ground won’t be an issue and he ticks the course-and-distance box. The ten-year-old should be competitive on ground he handles, but odds around 11/4 look meagre.
I’m with another course-and-distance winner, namely the Dan Skelton-trained LE MILOS. Since being shipped to the UK, the 11-year-old has won three from three on heavy ground. He’s also scored off a mark 6lb higher, and on this occasion he’s aided by a valuable 7lb jockey claim. Following a good return run at Sandown, he’s got to be worth a bet.
