TWO MUST-BET LUDLOW RACING TIPS – READ THE PREVIEW.
I love my racing and try to share a few well-researched tips with visitors to the site. However, I’ve noticed that many aren’t reading the previews, and to me that suggests a reluctance to learn. At the end of the day, you won’t profit from betting unless you’re prepared to put the time and effort into understanding the form. Do yourself a favour: read, understand, learn—and focus on transferring the bookmakers’ money into your own pocket.

TWO MUST-BET LUDLOW RACING TIPS – READ THE PREVIEW
1:13 LUDLOW – TALAKAN (11/4)
With a minus of over 30% to level stakes, it’s fair to suggest that backing Alan King-trained runners has been a quick route to the poorhouse. In this race, the Wroughton trainer saddles KING AL, who did at least win twice on the Flat. However, despite a fair effort when second at Kempton, he still needs to settle better.
If this were a handicap, WOLF RAYET would be giving DOWN TO BUSINESS 6lb. That said, on the Flat he would have been receiving weight from several of these, and the way he stayed on at Kempton suggests he needs further than two miles.
The Dan Skelton-trained DOWN TO BUSINESS finished third on his hurdling debut and followed up with a fourth at Ascot, earning a hurdles rating of 113. While the son of GHAIYYATH failed to win in four Flat starts in Ireland, he still achieved a solid rating of 78. Nevertheless, he finished 2¼ lengths behind TALAKAN, who looks the one with more scope for improvement.
On what should be testing ground, I’m firmly with the Toby Lawes-trained son of GOLDEN HORN. On his final Flat start in France, the gelding was an easy winner of a heavy-ground maiden. Despite a couple of jumping errors on his hurdling debut, he showed plenty of promise. Add in the fact that Kevin Brogan is riding out of his skin, and this sharp track should suit him perfectly.

3:33 LUDLOW – GREYVAL (15/2)
The Dan Skelton-trained SALLYVILLE LADY is a strong stayer who should go close to placing. The consistent HARD DEALT is nicely weighted, but in my opinion the six-year-old is no longer progressing.
If the trip were shorter, MAGICAL MAGGIE would have a strong chance. However, despite an interesting handicap mark and a track that isn’t overly stiff, I feel this distance stretches her stamina.
The free-running PISMO BEACH should be suited by the track and the larger field, but she hasn’t shown enough to suggest she can cope with a mark of 113. HELLFIRE PRINCESS faces a much tougher task than when winning from a 6lb lower mark last time out.
MASKED DANCE ticks the course-and-distance box, but her recent win came with a 7lb claimer aboard and from a 5lb lower mark. Lightly raced DRAMATIC ENCORE will need to find improvement with first-time cheekpieces, so it’s GREYVAL for me.
When the seven-year-old was racing on the Flat in France, she won a 13-runner contest on heavy ground. If we roll the clock back to her third hurdles start, she scored on soft ground at Huntingdon. The grey has since dropped 3lb in the ratings, and five of her six career wins have come during the first four months of the year. The daughter of THE GREAT GATSBY looks generously priced at 15/2—so why not?
